Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 33,900,160. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.765, Powerball p = 0.075. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 19 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.

SA PowerBall at a glance
South Africa's PowerBall is a National Lottery game in which you pick 5 numbers from 1–50 and 1 PowerBall from 1–16. It is drawn every Tuesday and Friday, with results from 21h00. The current PowerBall jackpot is ZAR 112,000,000, and the next draw is on Oct 13, 2026.
As reported after the 2026 operator change, a board costs R10 as of October 2026 and the jackpot odds are 1 in 33,900,160. Ticket sales close at 20h40 on draw nights.
How SA PowerBall works in short
Each PowerBall board has two parts:
- 5 main numbers from 1 to 50;
- 1 PowerBall from a separate pool of 1 to 16.
You can choose your own numbers or take a random selection. At each draw, five main numbers and one PowerBall come out, and boards that match enough of them win in one of 9 divisions. If the jackpot is not won, it rolls over to the next draw.

What changed in June 2026: R10 boards, PowerBall 1–16 and a new operator
In June 2026 Sizekhaya Holdings took over the South African National Lottery from iThuba Holdings. The PowerBall game changed with it:
| Before June 2026 | Since June 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Operator | iThuba Holdings | Sizekhaya Holdings |
| PowerBall pool | 1–20 | 1–16 |
| Price per board | R5 | R10 |
| Add-on | PowerBall PLUS | PowerBall XTRA (R5) |
A note on sources: the official site, nationallottery.co.za, confirms the operator, the 20h40 sales close and results from 21h00. Its game-rule pages could not be loaded when we checked on 11 October 2026, so the pool, price and odds come from Wikipedia and Lottoland ZA. Confirm them at a retailer before you play.
Because the PowerBall pool changed, LottaGo counts PowerBall statistics only from Jun 2, 2026, the start of the current rules. That makes the history short: 38 draws so far.
PowerBall PLUS is now PowerBall XTRA
The add-on known as PowerBall PLUS was renamed PowerBall XTRA in 2026. It costs R5 on top of the R10 board. Many players still search for "PowerBall Plus results". LottaGo shows the main PowerBall draw only. XTRA results and payouts are not part of LottaGo's data, so check them on the official National Lottery site.
Your odds of winning SA PowerBall
The jackpot odds come from the two number pools. There are C(50,5) ways to choose 5 numbers from 50, and 16 choices for the PowerBall:
C(50,5) × C(16,1) = 2,118,760 × 16 = 33,900,160
So one board has a 1 in 33,900,160 chance of the jackpot. Ten boards give you 10 in 33,900,160. The smaller PowerBall pool helps: with 5 from 50 and a 1–20 PowerBall, the same calculation would give 2,118,760 × 20 = 42,375,200.
SA PowerBall is still a long shot compared with LOTTO 6/52 at 1 in 20,358,520. Compare every game in the jackpot odds compared across lotteries table, or see SA LOTTO for the Wednesday and Saturday game.
Is SA PowerBall the same as the US Powerball?
No. South Africa's PowerBall is run by the National Lottery operator and draws 5 from 50 plus a PowerBall from 1–16 on Tuesdays and Fridays. The US Powerball is a separate American game with 5 white balls from 1–69 and a red Powerball from 1–26, drawn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. LottaGo lists the US game as PowerJack (US Powerball). Their jackpots, results and tickets are completely separate.
About the AI Agent lines for SA PowerBall
The AI Agent block above builds five PowerBall boards from 38 past draws under the current rules. Each board follows one rule: hot numbers, overdue numbers, all-time leaders, typical shape (a usual sum and odd/even mix) or frequent pairs. Each one shows the reason it was picked. This is LottaGo's free PowerBall number generator with explanations.
The strategies are tested openly. In a walk-forward backtest, each strategy picks 3 lines per draw from earlier results only, and the matches are counted against random picks. They perform like random picks; the table is in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel on this page. With so few draws since June 2026, the history behind these boards is short. Draws are random, so the boards are a selection from history, not a "PowerBall code" or prediction for today. No board raises your chance of winning. See how the AI Agent picks lines and the SA PowerBall number statistics.
Buying SA PowerBall tickets through LottaGo
SA PowerBall is on sale through LottaGo's official partner. The "Buy ticket" button takes you to the partner, which buys a real ticket and pays out any prize. LottaGo does not sell tickets or pay prizes itself, and it earns a commission on tickets bought through the partner. The commission never changes the statistics or the AI Agent boards.
The partner does not accept customers from every country. You can also buy PowerBall from official National Lottery retailers in South Africa. Play only if you are 18 or over, and only with money you can afford to lose.
