Does this work? An honest check
Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 33,900,160. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.765, Powerball p = 0.075. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 19 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.
| Strategy | Avg. matches (of 5) | Powerball matched | 3+ matches |

Most common SA PowerBall numbers
The most common SA PowerBall main numbers since the current rules began on Jun 2, 2026 are 40, 2, 27, 37, 9, and 19, counted over 38 draws. The charts above show the count for every main number from 1 to 50 and every PowerBall from 1 to 16.
That is a short history, so the leaders can change quickly. They are not a forecast: in every draw each main number has a 5 in 50 (10%) chance and each PowerBall a 1 in 16 (6.25%) chance.
Why the statistics start in June 2026
South Africa's PowerBall changed in June 2026, when the PowerBall pool was cut from 1–20 to 1–16 under the new operator, Sizekhaya Holdings. A PowerBall of 17, 18, 19 or 20 can no longer be drawn, so older counts would mislead. LottaGo therefore counts only draws from Jun 2, 2026 onwards.
With two draws a week, the current history grows by about eight draws a month. That is very little data for frequency analysis. Each main number is expected in about one draw in ten, so after a few dozen draws a number with twice the average count, or none at all, is entirely normal. Treat "hot" and "overdue" labels here with extra caution until the history is longer.
Hot, cold and overdue numbers explained
Hits in the last 100 draws
The "Last 100" view counts hits in the most recent 100 draws. Until the game has 100 draws under its current rules, this window covers the whole history since Jun 2, 2026. The Hot panel lists its leaders. Over 100 draws, a main number would be expected about 10 times.
Gap: draws since a number last appeared
The gap is the number of draws since a number last came up, and the Overdue panel lists the longest gaps. The average gap is 50 ÷ 5 = 10 draws for a main number and 16 draws for the PowerBall. A main number misses 30 draws in a row with a chance of (45 ÷ 50)³⁰, about 4%. A PowerBall misses 30 draws with a chance of (15 ÷ 16)³⁰, about 14%. Searches for "PowerBall overdue numbers for today" deserve a straight answer: a long gap does not make a number due.
Do hot or overdue numbers help?
No. Each PowerBall draw is independent. A number that came up last Friday has the same chance on Tuesday, and so does one that hasn't appeared since June. Expecting a cold number to catch up is the gambler's fallacy.
LottaGo tests this on real draws. The AI Agent builds boards from five strategies, including hot and overdue numbers. In a walk-forward backtest, each strategy picks 3 lines per draw from earlier results only, and the matches are counted against random picks. The strategies match like random picks. The table is in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel above. Our guide do hot and cold numbers work? explains why.
Hot pairs, common triplets, sums and odd/even
- Frequent pairs shows the two main numbers drawn together most often. Any given pair turns up in fewer than 1 draw in 100 (C(48,3) ÷ C(50,5) ≈ 0.8%), so after a few dozen draws most pairs have appeared 0 or 1 times. A "hot pair" of 2 or 3 is mostly chance.
- Triplets and quadruplets are rarer still. With this little history, any "most common triplet" list is built on one or two coincidences. LottaGo's statistics show pairs only.
- Sum adds up the five main numbers of each draw. Middle sums are the most common, because more combinations produce them.
- Odd/even shows how many odd main numbers each draw had. Two or three odd numbers is the usual mix.
None of these shapes makes a board more likely to win. Each of the 33,900,160 possible boards has the same chance.
Is SA PowerBall random? What the χ² test shows
The χ² (chi-squared) uniformity test asks whether the difference between the most and least drawn numbers is bigger than chance would produce. Its p-value answers that: above 0.05, the spread looks like ordinary randomness. With a short history the test has little power, so it can only flag very large imbalances for now.
LottaGo runs the test on the main numbers and the PowerBall after every draw. The latest result is in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel above.
SA PowerBall statistics FAQ
Which SA PowerBall numbers are drawn the most?
Since the current rules began on Jun 2, 2026, the most drawn SA PowerBall main numbers are 40, 2, 27, 37, 9, and 19, out of 38 draws. The PowerBall chart shows the leaders from 1 to 16. The rankings change after every Tuesday and Friday draw, and the past SA PowerBall draws list the results behind them.
Are overdue PowerBall numbers more likely to be drawn?
No. An overdue number has the same chance in the next draw as any other: 10% for each main number and 6.25% for each PowerBall. Long gaps are normal. A given PowerBall misses 30 draws in a row about 14% of the time, and LottaGo's backtest shows overdue-number boards match like random picks.
Is SA PowerBall rigged, or are the draws random?
LottaGo has found no sign that it isn't random. The χ² uniformity test on PowerBall draws since Jun 2, 2026 checks whether some numbers come up more often than chance allows. A p-value above 0.05 means the counts are consistent with a fair draw. Because the history is short, the test will become more informative as draws accumulate.
Are there PowerBall hot numbers for today?
LottaGo shows the hot numbers of the recent draws, but they are not a prediction for today. No method can predict PowerBall numbers. For other games' leaders, see the most drawn numbers in other lotteries.
