Does this work? An honest check
Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 134,490,400. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.929, Powerball p = 0.239. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 150 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.

Powerball Australia: Thursday night, 7 numbers plus a Powerball
Powerball Australia is drawn once a week, on Thursday night after 7:30pm AEST. Each game has 7 numbers from 1 to 35 plus one Powerball from 1 to 20, and you need all eight to win Division 1. That makes the jackpot odds 1 in 134,490,400 per game, worked out below.
This week's Division 1 jackpot is A$100,000,000, and the next draw is Oct 15, 2026. Powerball is run by The Lott, Australia's official lotteries operator.
Not the American Powerball
Australia's Powerball shares a name with the US game, but the two are different lotteries with different rules. The Australian game draws 7 main numbers from 35 and a Powerball from a separate barrel of 20. The US Powerball draws 5 numbers from 69 and a red Powerball from 26, three times a week. Results, jackpots and odds on this page are for the Australian game only. If you are after the American draw, LottaGo covers it as PowerJack.
Thursday night draws, Australia-wide
There is one Powerball Australia draw each week, on Thursday evening after 7:30pm AEST (Australia/Sydney time). The draw is the same for every state: whether you play in Queensland, Victoria or Western Australia, the winning numbers are identical. Local clock times differ, so in Perth or Brisbane the draw falls at a different hour on the clock than in Sydney or Melbourne during daylight saving.
The live jackpot above is the advertised Division 1 figure for the next draw, as supplied by LottaGo's data partner. The latest Powerball Australia results appear after the draw, with the prize per division.
How Powerball Australia works in short
- Choose 7 different numbers from 1 to 35.
- Choose 1 Powerball from 1 to 20. It comes from a separate barrel, so it can repeat one of your main numbers.
- At the draw, 7 winning numbers and 1 Powerball are drawn.
- Division 1 needs all 7 numbers plus the Powerball. Lower divisions pay for smaller matches.
Entry prices, system entries and the full division table are set by The Lott. We have not verified them on an official page, so we don't quote them here; see The Lott's Powerball page for current prices. Our Powerball vs Oz Lotto odds guide compares Australia's big draws.
Your odds of winning Powerball Australia
The jackpot odds come from multiplying the two barrels:
- Main numbers: C(35, 7) = (35 × 34 × 33 × 32 × 31 × 30 × 29) ÷ 5,040 = 33,891,580,800 ÷ 5,040 = 6,724,520
- Powerball: 20 choices
- Division 1: 6,724,520 × 20 = 134,490,400
So one game has a 1 in 134,490,400 chance of Division 1. That is about twice as long as Oz Lotto's 1 in 62,891,499 and about 16 times as long as Saturday Lotto's 6 from 45. The Powerball barrel does most of the damage: without it, seven from 35 would be 1 in 6.7 million. To compare with other games, see jackpot odds compared across lotteries.
About the AI Agent lines for Powerball Australia
The AI Agent builds 5 lines from 443 past Powerball Australia draws under the current 7 + 1 format, and each line includes a Powerball. The strategies are hot numbers, overdue numbers, all-time leaders, a typical-shape line and frequent pairs, with the reason for each pick written out.
What the lines can't do is predict the draw. In a walk-forward backtest over the last 150 draws, each strategy was compared with random picks, and they perform like random picks, including on the Powerball. Every game keeps the same 1 in 134,490,400 odds, AI Agent line or not. Learn how the AI Agent picks lines, or browse the Powerball Australia number statistics.
Buying Powerball Australia through LottaGo
Powerball Australia is listed as on sale through LottaGo's official partner. The partner, not LottaGo, buys the real ticket and pays out prizes, and LottaGo earns a commission when you buy through it; the commission never affects statistics or AI Agent lines. Australia is on the partner's list of excluded countries, so players in Australia should buy from The Lott and its retailers.
