Does this work? An honest check
Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 20,358,520. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.985. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 19 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.
| Strategy | Avg. matches (of 6) | 3+ matches |

SA LOTTO hot and cold numbers
Since Jun 3, 2026, across 38 draws of the 1–52 game, the most drawn SA LOTTO numbers are 24, 10, 19, 23, 8, and 20. The charts above show every number's total hits, its recent hits and how many draws it has been missing.
None of this is a prediction for today's draw. Each board has the same 1 in 20,358,520 chance of the jackpot, hot numbers or not.
A short history, read with care
South Africa's LOTTO moved to a 1–52 number pool in 2026, and LottaGo's records for the new game start in June 2026. With two draws a week, that is a short history. Each number has a 6 in 52 chance per draw, about 11.5%, so after 40 draws the expected count per number is under 5. A number on 9 hits and another on 1 is well within ordinary chance at that sample size.
So when you see "SA Lotto hot numbers for today" anywhere, including here, read it as a description of a few months of results. As the draws add up, the counts will drift towards the dashed "expected" line on the Total hits chart.
Hot, cold and overdue numbers explained
Hits in the last 100 draws
The recent-draws view is designed to count the last 100 draws. The 1–52 game has fewer than 100 draws so far, so this view currently covers its whole history. The "Hot" panel shows the numbers that came up most in it.
Gap: draws since a number last appeared
"Gap" counts the draws since each number was last drawn, and the "Overdue" panel lists the longest current gaps. On average an SA LOTTO number turns up about once every 8.7 draws, roughly once a month. Gaps of 20 draws or more are routine: a given number misses 20 draws in a row about 9% of the time, so four or five numbers are usually on a gap that long.
Pairs, sums and odd/even balance
- Frequent pairs. Any specific pair of numbers has about a 1.1% chance of appearing together in a draw. With only a few dozen draws, most pairs have appeared once or never, so the top "common pairs" may have just two or three appearances. Common triplets and quadruplets are rarer still, so lists of them mean even less.
- Sum of 6 numbers. Most draws total somewhere in the middle of the possible range, because many more boards add up to middle totals.
- Odd / even. Three odd and three even numbers is the most frequent split, again because more combinations produce it.
The charts count the 6 main numbers only; the Bonus Ball is not included.
Is SA LOTTO random? What the χ² test shows
The χ² (chi-squared) uniformity test asks whether the spread between frequent and rare numbers is larger than chance would produce. Its p-value answers in one number: above 0.05, the results look like normal randomness. With a short history the test can only catch very large distortions. The current result is in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel above.
Do hot or overdue numbers help? The backtest
The same honest check contains a backtest: each AI Agent strategy picks 3 boards per draw from earlier draws only, and its matches are counted against what random boards would get. Hot, overdue, all-time leader and frequent-pair strategies all perform like random picks. The reasons are set out in do hot and cold numbers work?
SA LOTTO statistics FAQ
Which SA Lotto numbers are drawn the most?
Since Jun 3, 2026, the most drawn SA LOTTO numbers are 24, 10, 19, 23, 8, and 20, from 38 draws under the 1–52 rules. The history is short, so the leaders change often. A high count describes the past and does not raise a number's chance in the next draw. See the past SA Lotto draws behind the counts.
Are overdue numbers more likely to be drawn?
No. Each SA LOTTO draw uses all 52 balls again, so an "overdue" number has the same 6 in 52 chance as any other. Expecting it to be due is the gambler's fallacy, and LottaGo's backtest finds that overdue-number boards match no more often than random boards.
Is SA Lotto rigged, or are the draws random?
The published results on LottaGo look random. The χ² test compares the real counts with equal chances, and no history-based strategy beats random picks in the backtest. These checks cover the results, not the draw process, but they show no pattern a player could use. For comparison, see the most drawn numbers in other lotteries.
