Does this work? An honest check
Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 292,201,338. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.159, PowerBall p = 0.518. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 150 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.
| Strategy | Avg. matches (of 5) | PowerBall matched | 3+ matches |

Most common Powerball numbers
The most common Powerball white balls since the current rules began on Oct 7, 2015 are 21, 61, 64, 28, 23, and 27, counted over 1,418 drawings. The charts above show the count for every white ball from 1 to 69 and every red Powerball from 1 to 26.
These numbers have come up most often in the past. They are not more likely to come up next: in every drawing, each white ball has a 5 in 69 chance (about 7.2%) and each red Powerball a 1 in 26 chance (about 3.8%).
How the Powerball counts work
LottaGo counts Powerball statistics only from drawings under the current rules, which began on Oct 7, 2015. Older drawings are left out, so every number in the counts was drawn from the same pools.
Each white ball is expected in about 7.2% of drawings, so over 1,418 drawings the expected count is about 7.2% of that total. The dashed line on the chart marks this level. The red Powerball has its own chart, because it comes from a separate pool of 26. A white 7 and a red 7 are counted separately.
Real counts always scatter around the expected line. A few numbers will sit well above it and a few well below, even in a perfectly fair game. Being at the top of the chart says what has happened, not what will happen.
Hot, cold and overdue Powerball numbers
Hits in the last 100 drawings
The "Last 100" view counts each number's hits in the most recent 100 Powerball drawings. A white ball is expected about 7 times in 100 drawings. The Hot panel shows the current leaders of that window, which shift as new drawings come in.
Gap: drawings since a number last appeared
The gap is the number of drawings since a number last came up, and the Overdue panel lists the longest ones. The average gap for a white ball is 69 ÷ 5 = 13.8 drawings. The chance that one particular white ball misses 30 drawings in a row is (64 ÷ 69)³⁰, about 10%. With 69 white balls, around seven will be on a gap of 30 or more at any given time. Long gaps are normal, not a sign that a number is "due".
Do hot or overdue numbers help? The backtest
No. Each Powerball drawing is independent, and the balls have no memory. Believing a cold number must "catch up" is the gambler's fallacy.
LottaGo tests the idea on real data. The AI Agent has five strategies, including hot numbers and overdue numbers. In a walk-forward backtest over the last 150 drawings, each strategy picked 3 lines per drawing using only earlier results, and its matches were counted. A random line matches on average 5 × 5 ÷ 69 ≈ 0.36 white balls per drawing, and the strategies land at about the same level. The full table is in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel above. Our guide do hot and cold numbers work? covers the theory.
Pairs, sums and odd/even balance
- Frequent pairs lists the two white balls drawn together most often. Any given pair is expected only rarely, so the top pairs mostly reflect chance.
- Sum adds up the five white balls of each drawing. Middle sums are the most common because more combinations produce them.
- Odd/even shows how many odd white balls each drawing had. Two or three odd numbers is the usual mix.
These charts describe typical drawings. They don't make any line more likely to win: every one of the 292,201,338 possible plays has the same chance.
Powerball jackpot analysis: what the numbers can and can't tell you
Many "Powerball analysis" tools rank numbers by past frequency. The honest analysis is simpler. The jackpot odds are C(69,5) × 26 = 11,238,513 × 26 = 292,201,338 for every play, whatever its numbers. Statistics can describe the past accurately, but they can't shorten those odds.
Is Powerball random? What the χ² test shows
The χ² (chi-squared) uniformity test asks whether the gap between the most and least drawn numbers is larger than chance would produce. It gives a p-value. Above 0.05, the differences look like ordinary random variation. An occasional low value is also expected, because with enough tests some cross the line by chance.
LottaGo runs this test on Powerball white balls and the red Powerball after every drawing. The result is shown in the "Does this work? An honest check" panel above, so you can check it instead of taking anyone's word for it.
Powerball statistics FAQ
Which Powerball numbers are drawn the most?
Since Oct 7, 2015, the most drawn Powerball white balls are 21, 61, 64, 28, 23, and 27, out of 1,418 drawings. The ranking changes after every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday drawing. The charts above give the full counts for white balls 1–69 and red Powerballs 1–26, and the past Powerball draws page lists the results behind them.
What Powerball number hits the most?
The white ball at the top of the "Total hits" chart has hit the most since the current rules began. The leaders right now are 21, 61, 64, 28, 23, and 27. Check the separate chart for the red Powerball. Being the leader doesn't raise a number's chance in the next drawing, which stays 5 in 69 for each white ball.
Which Powerball ticket wins the most?
No ticket wins more often than another. Every play has a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of the jackpot and a 1 in 24.87 chance of any prize. Quick picks, chosen numbers and statistics-based lines all have the same odds. What differs is how many people you might share a prize with.
Are overdue Powerball numbers more likely to be drawn?
No. A white ball that hasn't appeared for 40 drawings still has a 5 in 69 chance next time. With 69 balls and only 5 drawn, long gaps are routine: about seven white balls are on a gap of 30 or more at any moment. LottaGo's backtest shows overdue-number lines match like random picks.
Where can I see the most drawn numbers in other lotteries?
LottaGo's most drawn numbers in other lotteries page shows the leaders of the major games side by side, each counted under its current rules. Every lottery also has its own statistics page with hits, gaps, pairs, sums and the odd/even balance.
