Does this work? An honest check
Every draw is an independent random event: every line has the same chance of the top prize, 1 in 8,145,060. The AI Agent’s lines are a selection based on past draws, not a forecast.
Uniformity test (χ²): main numbers p = 0.793. With p above 0.05 the differences in frequency look like ordinary random noise.
Backtest on the last 8 draws: for each draw every strategy picked numbers from earlier history only (3 lines per draw), then matches were counted.

Irish Lotto: three draws a week, 6 numbers from 45
The Irish Lotto is drawn on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:55pm, with ticket sales closing at 7:45pm. You pick 6 numbers from 1 to 45, and a bonus number is drawn too. As of October 2026 a line costs €2, with a minimum of two lines (€4), and each line has a 1 in 8,145,060 chance of the jackpot.
The next draw is Oct 14, 2026, and the advertised jackpot is €2,400,000. If nobody matches all six numbers, the jackpot rolls over to the next draw.
The 2026 change: 45 balls and a Monday draw
Irish Lotto changed twice in September 2026. From 3 September the ball pool was cut from 47 to 45, and from 7 September a Monday draw was added to the Wednesday and Saturday draws. Some older pages, including lottery.ie's own page summary, still say 1–47. The 2026 rules book and the National Lottery's press release both confirm 1–45.
Removing two balls makes the jackpot noticeably easier to hit. The old game had C(47,6) = 10,737,573 possible lines; the new one has C(45,6) = 8,145,060. Each line is now about 1.32 times as likely to win the jackpot as before. The extra Monday draw adds a third chance each week, at the same odds per line.
How Irish Lotto works
- Choose 6 numbers from 1 to 45 on each line, or let the terminal pick them as a quick pick.
- Play at least two lines. Each line costs €2.
- Six main numbers and one bonus number are drawn.
- Match all 6 main numbers for the jackpot, which starts at a minimum of €2 million.
- There are 8 prize tiers. The lowest winning matches are 3 numbers, or 2 numbers plus the bonus.
Ireland's National Lottery is operated by Premier Lotteries Ireland DAC, which holds the licence until 2034. Our guide to the Irish Lotto rules after the 2026 changes covers the game step by step.
Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2
Lotto Plus is an optional add-on for €1 per line, so two lines with Lotto Plus cost €6. Your same numbers then also enter two extra draws, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2. Each has a fixed €1 million top prize that does not roll over. With Lotto Plus, the operator puts the odds of winning any prize at 1 in 8.5, against 1 in 25.4 for the main Lotto game alone.
Your odds of winning Irish Lotto
The jackpot odds come straight from the number of possible lines:
- 45 × 44 × 43 × 42 × 41 × 40 = 5,864,443,200
- ÷ (6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1) = 720
- = 8,145,060 combinations
So one line has a 1 in 8,145,060 chance of the jackpot, and the minimum two-line entry has 2 in 8,145,060. Every line has the same odds, whether you pick birthdays, a pattern or a quick pick. About the AI Agent lines for Irish Lotto
The AI Agent on this page builds 5 lines from 16 Irish Lotto draws under the current rules, each with a short reason: hot numbers, overdue numbers, all-time leaders, a typical-shape line and frequent pairs. Because the 1–45 game is new, that history is short, and the leaders will change often.
The honest check above shows the result of a walk-forward backtest: the AI Agent's strategies match numbers about as often as random picks. The lines are a choice drawn from history, not a forecast, and no line improves the 1 in 8,145,060 odds. More detail: how the AI Agent picks lines. Numbers by frequency are on the Irish Lotto number statistics page.
Buying Irish Lotto tickets through LottaGo
Irish Lotto is on sale through LottaGo's official partner. Press "Buy ticket" and the partner buys a real ticket for you and pays out any prize; LottaGo itself does not sell tickets or pay prizes. LottaGo earns a commission on these sales, which has no effect on the statistics or AI Agent lines. The partner does not accept players from some countries, including the United Kingdom, so check availability on its site.
